The Educational Space of SCO+: Challenges, Solutions, and Prospects

SDG 4SDG 10

November 19, 10:00-18:00
Academic Council Hall

About the Conference

Political and economic processes within the SCO+ countries require contemporary educational policy to implement directions that, in line with global sustainable development goals, can enhance the quality of the educational process, the competitiveness of educational organisations, and the training of highly qualified personnel for the region's modern innovative economies.

The SCO+ countries possess specific characteristics within the context of educational policy development that should be considered when planning innovations, transformations, and the general renewal of educational systems. The primary distinction lies in the differences between educational systems, which creates difficulties for integration processes in education across the SCO+ space. In particular, this concerns the mutual recognition of educational certificates and qualifications.

Facts and Figures

The SCO comprises countries from various regions of the world: Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, the PRC, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan and Mongolia hold observer status.
The SCO+ format was initiated by the United Russia party in October 2020. This format encompasses inter-party cooperation involving not only the SCO Member States (members, observers, and candidates) but also countries of the CIS and BRICS.
The total area of the SCO Member States is approximately 34 million square kilometres, which accounts for about 60 per cent of the territory of Eurasia.
The SCO Member States are home to more than 3.4 billion people, representing nearly half of the planet's population.
