Challenges of Modern Healthcare and the Experience of SCO+ Countries

SDG 3SDG 17

November 19, 10:00-13:00
Law Institute Conference Hall

Session

The health of the population is a vital prerequisite for the sustainable development of nations, economic growth, and the improvement of the quality of life. Amid demographic shifts, the rising prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases, persistent threats from infectious diseases, healthcare workforce shortages, and the need to modernise healthcare systems, the exchange of successful experiences between countries becomes of particular importance.

The Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation bring together over 40 per cent of the world's population and possess unique experience in organising medical care, training personnel, preventing diseases, and implementing innovative approaches to population health preservation. Despite differences in healthcare models, the countries of the region face similar challenges and hold significant potential for expanding scientific, educational, and professional cooperation.

This session is dedicated to discussing current challenges in healthcare and best practices among SCO member states in the areas of medical training, the organisation of healthcare, disease prevention, maternal and child health, public health development and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Particular attention will be paid to the role of science, education, sport and inter-state cooperation in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3: “Good Health and Well-being”.

During the session, participants will present research findings, successful practices and management solutions implemented in various countries, and will discuss promising areas for cooperation in the fields of healthcare, medical education and public health within the SCO region.

The session will serve as a platform for professional dialogue among scientists, lecturers, practitioners, healthcare organisers and young researchers interested in developing international cooperation and finding effective solutions to improve public health.
